This pendant was the starting point. A pearl encased in copper wrapping.
I thought of turning it into a set; hoping that it can be re-created as a hanging earring and not just a pendant. Well, the story ended with turning it into a necklace rather than earrings.
I guess some of you are asking why not earrings? Why a necklace? See for yourself ..
The shape of the original piece lent itself to the finished product. It could not be made smaller or the full design could not be accomplished; therefore by adding the earring hook would have meant a set of wearable jewellery that would have been too long and thus the pearl would have been lost.
The piece now has a hand made chain attached to it with hand made clasps.
