This statue of a foot in Girona was a perfect image to illustrate the title of a 1st step.
I guess we all take 1st steps in our lives. The first time we recognise the person next to us as our mother. The first time we open our eyes. The first time we are able to say “mum”. The first time we wrote our name, and so on.
There are a lot of first times in our lives, but how many do you still remember?
How many of those first steps do you know what they meant for you?
How many of those first steps allowed you to express your thoughts and feelings?
What have you found useful in those first steps?
What have you taken away from those moments of trial and error? Have you managed to take away anything from those moments of growth?
I invite you to try to jot down all those “1st step” moments and see how many there have been in your life. How, through the prism of time you may have forgotten about them?
This exercise will also link in with our earlier topic of patience.
In order to overcome that first step, a lot of patience would have been exercised by someone around us; a lot of courage would have been required by us.
Take the time and remember those 1st steps, and wonder at the journey you have already travelled.
As always join in the conversation in a comment, or journal your thoughts. We are ready to evolve, join us on the journey of discovery.
