The sky line in Barcelona as seen from Sagrada Familia. A very familiar sky line for the locals, but breath taking for the tourist. Center stage a tower made of what appears to be metal, but no doubt glass reflects the surrounding buildings back to the viewer.

The title today is “rememberence”, and I guess for me looking at this image, I can not but think of the Gherkin in London, the Swiss Re building.

Our mind is an interesting instrument, it can go about its daily business seemingly ignoring so much, and yer it stores billions of information in those unseen files often called subconscious. It is also an interesting instrument, because it will bring back an ignored thoughts in full 4K stereophonic sound when you least expect it or want it.

Rememberence is not just something I ate yesterday, but can be data stored away for safe keeping for years and years and then all of a sudden a smell, a movement, a fleeting glance brings it all back.

Human beings work hard at forgetting things, because if we were to keep it all active front of house, our mind would become so overwhelmed that we would not be able to cope with daily tasks. And yet there are some humans out there who live through that experience daily. These humans may be strugling with mental health or with newuro divergence. These humans do not struggle because their mind is defective to the point of no return, but that their mind through its wiring is recalling data that perhaps in that moment is not useful.

This idea of rememberence has also come up for me because i am embarking on a new trip with a group of eceptional humans, and we all embody keys that we are to then share with the group. My theme is protection, but the opposuite of that would be vulnerability. And when rememberence hits you, your whole system feels vulnerable, you are forced to face those emotions you have lcoked down so many years ago. It requires you to connect mind body and soul to give meaning to the feelings, the words, the expereince. And without context and meaning those body sensations are pure biology in action. Your mind is imagining something that may have happened or not and is filtering it though the prism of today. Your mind is not accurate about the detail, but the body still releases all those hormones that then tell the body to either feel safe or flee the experience.

The mind is a beautiful technology, that when is works in coherence with the body in an elevated state it can overcome so much, however is our state is in a low vibration the whole exitance seems futile.

So yes, for me this Barelona skyline is a memory of not only Spain but also London. Not only of this tower but the climb to the roof of Sagrada Familia. Not only of the rooftop but also that the first time I visited was in 2020 before the world shut down. Not only that the world shut down, but that of being inside the temple of the family and hearing through the speakers a choire of women reciting a prayer. Listening to the prayer and feeling the impact of the words, or the music coupled with the beautiful rays of sunshine coming through the glass windows. Not only of the sunshine but of the hues of colour it reflected through the stained glass, yellow orange red on one side and blue green the other. The light on the floow tiles, and that it was the aniversary of my birth. That I saw a documentary about this temple over 10 years prior and how it has been built since the 1800. That a project thought up by another human being is yet to be accomplished fully despite being built for 143 years. That 143 years is only 2 generations removed from my own birth. And so on…. And can you see how the mind can remember and make unseen connections, fleeting trhough positive and negative experiences, and through the filter of the expereince, they are either just words in a blog or vivid impressions made manifest by a remarkable energetic circuitry called the mind.

How are yoour own rememberences cascade emotions for you? How are you experiencing that cascade? Is it a trickle or does it feel like a tzunami? Are you in charge of your technology, or does technology run the show?
