If only we could roam free like this beautiful pup. To him each run, each day off the leash is like escaping it’s own boundaries and exploring the world anew. Every smell, every blade of grass is new, it’s worth exploring. This pooch is an example of pure joy.

When was the last time you allowed yourself to escape the confines of your own morality to the point of roaming the world free? When was the last time you threw caution to the wind and you just let your guard down? Have you actually run this free ever in your life?

I have to admit that being in control is one of my own weaknesses. I guess when I was a child the number of rules were so great due to the fear my parent had that this they were passed on to me through limitations that are now binding me.

When we are children the role of the care giver is to make sure that their offspring survives, therefore rules are invented to keep the kid contained. The interesting part of that containment is that it can go one of two ways, the kid listens to the parent and abides by the rules to the letter, or the kid gets so fed up with the rules that all rules are broken. As we grow more and more limitations and rules are being imposed on us until one day our whole being gets lost and only the limitations and the inhibitions and the regulations are left.

If you were to look at your life today, what is ruling it? Is it the need to have stuff? Is it the need to have money? Is it the need to belong? Is it the need for food? Is it the dependency on a substance? Is it the dependency on a religion? Do you expect someone to direct you? Are you meeting your need through an addiction of any kind? Are you so engrossed in another human that you loose yourself? Are you spending your time playing too much on game consoles? Are you spending too much time escaping your family? Are you spending too much time at work? What are the strings that bind you? What is restricting your freedom in thought, emotions, time or space? Do you know who you are if all this was stripped away? Are you pursuing your dreams? Are you living the life you imagined for yourself? Can you enjoy each moment without feeling regret?

Are you as carefree as this pooch? Are you on your proverbial leash or have you escaped?
