Kom Ombo, the temple that challenged me the most in 2022. Kom Ombo is is an unusual double temple in the town of Kom Ombo in Aswan. (The southern half of the temple was dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek, god of fertility and creator of the world with Hathor and Khonsu. Meanwhile, the northern part of the temple was dedicated to the falcon god Haroeris (“Horus the Elder”), along “with Tasenetnofret (the Good Sister, a special form of Hathor or Tefnut and Panebtawy (Lord of the Two Lands)” (see)

Kom Ombo was where I had to face the darkness and had to be the most aligned with the task.

What made it challenging was that we arrived at the temple towards the end of the day, when there was only 1 hour until the temple was to close to the main visitors, and we were to be in the temple after sun set.

The stories from the group from previous visits was that it was a difficult temple to work in. Last time “the teacher” was harsh, it used a cane to beat those who were not aligned, including the guards. Matias told us that if we are not aligned or if we hold fear in any way, we will have a hard time. So from the start I knew this will be challenging in a totally different way to how the other temples welcomed me.

We were asked to organise ourselves in our constellations, and to arrange ourselves along the main hallways all the way to the back of the temple. And so…my constellation ended up being at the back, in semi darkness, all of us huddled around an alter stone.

It is here, where we experienced the connection, and listened to the story told to us by the “Darkness”. It is here were we were given codes for the future. It is in this location where we were told the the next 200 years is all about adaptability, and how all previously learned survival skills will no longer work. It is here where we were made aware that the next danger will come from the outside, beyond Earth and we will need to be prepared for what is to come. And it is here, that I faced my fears, and learned that if we face our darkness, it can become an ally. It is here that we received the message of embracing and using the darkness, as they are not our enemy but a different aspect of the same thing. Just as light provides the path, so can too our darkness.

In the evening we visited the temple of Kom Ombo, the temple of duality. The temple where Sobek- the crocodile God and his brother Sekhmet rule in duality. The temple appears to have been one of healing during the roman time, where people will come to get their ailments healed.

This temple had a very different feel to it. The activity we did was first of all to resonate in sound along the two axes of the temple, 6 circles representing the 1st 6 constellations on the left and 6 of the next 6 constellations on the right. We resounded to the sound of our voices to the scale of 15th of the musical notes. This clearly created the right atmosphere for the master of obscurity to come out, Sobek, the crocodile. Sobek was very keen to see who still had fear, sniffing around, looking for a way in, to challenge what we brought before him. The more he sniffed the more the groups were singing in unity, the louder it got. He eventually conceded that we were too united and peaceful and therefore accepted that we give him all of our hurts, all of our fears to consume them as fuel. The next creature to voice himself through Mati was the snake, a very sarcastic creature, one that is not one for sugar coating things when he made an appearance. His message to us was that though we think we have transcended the darkness, we indeed have 12 thousand years more of a different energy, a different master of obscurity that will come our way. The next virus that will be taking over, will be an artificial one,and still, despite our efforts we are unlikely to get out of this one. The one thing that has kept us in such dark ages on this planet was because of survival, it has always been about survival, for the human beings. The work is not impossible, as long as we can acknowledge our things and transcend them. We have been given a code of light that we are meant to send towards humanity as a whole. As humans in the group we will not be immune from what is coming, but again if we transcend things then all will be ok.

Today we were told that it has been an honor to receive us in the temple. A very different feel to how the groups have been received in the past.

Today I worked on transcending my own fear of darkness. When Sobek was sniffing (for it was the entity that flashed before my mind’s eye before Matias spoke); all I could think of was “I am here for the collective, for the task”. Let’s face it, being in a temple at night, with your eyes closed with all your senses busy trying to follow what Matias was saying in the headphones, kept the world around shut out. And what does the brain do, when it has no familiar sensory input? It panics, so today was all about coming back to the center.

At the end of our completed task we were told to go and search what we came for. My inner voice asked me to make my way to the back of the temple. As I was walking to that area I was right behind Matias, all of a sudden he turned around and looked at me with fixed eyes as if asking why are you following. In my mind, I replied “I am not following you, I have information I need to seek, I am going to see the panels with the medical stuff on it.” At this he turned around and walked ahead, of course both of us walked in the same direction. The inner voice directed me to look at the panels with the medical data, and the recipes for medication and ancient potions. I needed to look at these panels again because of my constellation related task.

My last action in this temple was to draw in the sand the shape of a foot, as a request that the healing energies are sent to node for my task, just like the people long ago have done, as a sign of the covenant for healing.
