A perfect portrait of a furry friend, staring in the camera, daring us to speak to it, daring us to look into it’s eyes and discover its soul.
One day away from the equinox makes me consider how we are once again moving into that period of the year where light changes to longer nights and darker days, where we are almost facing our own existential crisis in the eyes. But just for this one day in autumn we can enjoy the equality of the time and space, where the night and day is equal in length and the rays of the sun fall perpendicular on the earth. For this brief moment in equality is achieved, and this moment is just one day away. It invites us to contemplate how balance is so precious and how just by looking away we may miss this moment, and then we have to wait for a whole new season to emerge before such a moment of equality can be felt again.
What have you been avoiding this year? What have you been ignoring? What have you failed to look in it’s eyes and therefore you chose to miss the details? What have you still to do in order to reach the balance? Are you ready to balance out the light and darkness of your existence? Are you able to see the shades of grey amid the white and black? Are you ready for the change?
