The sun dial says 1727 – a clock that is generated by the rays of the sun – inscribed on the side of the church, that has been standing from the Norman period, but was rebuilt in 1196. I guess the title of this entry is adequately named “only time will tell”.

As human beings we experience time as linear, almost like one foot in front of the other and because of this linearity we experience life as a series of experiences. But what if I told you that perhaps we are in fact experiencing time as all encompassing, experiencing the past present and future at the same time?

Let’s try and experiment: think of your most favourite toy from childhood, now really think of it, create that image of you at whatever age you are when you are holding your most favourite toy, now see if you can remember what else can you see as you are holding that toy, what age are you, are there any sounds or any smells about. Are you there yet?

No, ok, well if with open eyes you can not go there, then close your eyes, and cast your mind back as if you were opening the page of a photo album, and see yourself holding that toy as if in a picture.
