Time to return to Monaco-Monte Carlo, the small principality on the coast of the Mediterranean and take a stroll in the Japanese gardens.

If you have ever visited Monaco – Monte Carlo, you may have come across this beautiful garden in the middle of the city. It is surprising that despite the road passing mere meters away from it, this beautiful area is a place of tranquillity and perfect spot for meditation. Whenever I visited the principality I always made sure to take a stroll in this small urban oasis.

As we look forward to another week, I wonder when and where will be your own oasis of peace? How will you find a moment in your busy week to take a breather, ground yourself, and just exist? I wonder how many of you will actually take a break to just exist? Do you have the opportunity to relax, take a load off and just take an inner journey?

I know people who appear so busy in their lives that they have no time to themselves. It is as if time moves at a very different pace for them, they seem rushed off their feet, as if 24 hours are just not enough to do everything they need to do. I do wonder sometimes how do they get this busy? What kind of decisions do they take, that would hurry their life up so much, that they loose all sense of who they are in the process? I wonder, is it worth chasing so many things, to the detriment of actually living your life?

All around me people seem to want to move from one job to another in the hope of more pay, and yet if you look at the pay versus responsibility the balance does not checks out. All around me people continue to chase that ever illusive perfect life with the perfect partner, the perfect children, the perfect house, perfect car, perfect everything, and yet. And yet through all their chasing they forget to see what’s in front of them, the partner, the children, the house, the car, the job. Some people do not seem to realise that through this ever lasting chase they are just that the chasers of something; but not the recipient or the user of those things.

A few weeks back I was having a discussion with someone about how buying a bigger house was a superb decision just because the person could afford to pay a higher mortgage, despite the house they already had being large enough for their needs. It was difficult to explain to the person telling me this that perhaps it was already enough that they had they house they had. And yes I get it that maybe a bigger house is a better investment; but then again, why not enjoy that which you have to the fullest before you try to out do yourself?!

If you are busy chasing, when will you have a moment’s peace?
