Act now

We go back to Berlin for the entry of today. And rightfully so we return to this place as we consider the historical significance of this city, today for it’s mix of art and culture and the blending of the world. I took this picture in a famous little courtyard where many street artists leave their mark. I particularly like the juxtaposition of the two images. I did contact the author on one of the social media platforms but never received an answer, so I go ahead and use their image as the inspiration for the blog.

I guess it is a very serious theme, and perhaps can be emotive for some but in a world where human beings continue to be pushed against each other based on certain criteria, I wonder if we are not all psychos for accepting this divide?

Since I was a child I was dreaming of a world where we could live together in harmony, where it did not matter what language you spoke, or what religion you had or what ethnicity you had or what ever difference you had about yourself, you could live a life in peace. I was hoping that there will come a day when we did not have to hide for who we are, that we were not pitted against each other, but we would greet each other with kindness and we could smile at each other without fear. Are we there yet?

Instead the world looking back at me is still the embodiment of the photo. Sure thing is not always the case, but if we were to believe what we see written or presented to us on the magi box, then we are indeed this very image.

But how long can one go without paying attention to the written word? How long can we avoid the blatant adverts? How long can we ignore the billboards? How long can we ignore the “message”? When will we humans recognise the power withing to create something new? Do we continue to be sheep and not use our inner wisdom? Do we continue to be pawns?

I have asked this many time throughout our weeks together, when will humanity wake up? When will we find the true part of us, that part we leave behind the moment we are socialised? When will we reveal the part of us that is sunshine and rainbows, and leave behind the doom and gloom? When will we be able to find the balance?

For me this picture says a thousand words. What does it say to you?
