This skeleton became the office mascot for a while. So at the end of every day, we would place it as a joke in one of our colleague’s chair or sometimes even stack it against the window as a way of scaring our colleagues in the morning, but inevitably it would end up on the floor in this corner gathering dust. And the end of the office day would come and it would find its way to someone’s chair and the next day it would be downgraded to the floor again. And there it waited to be picked up again and be manifested somewhere in the office.
Today this jumped out amid the photos because to some degree we are still waiting, we are expecting something to come but perhaps we are not aware of what.
Today, a client decided that I was no longer needed, as “nothing was changing” and anyways they were forgetting too much of what have been talking about in the past few weeks, so what is the point of the sessions. This person clearly had many events happening in their lives and their mind has gotten into the habit of forgetting. The only moment when they looked at all animated was when for brief moments they could speak about the mundane things, tattoos, or colouring their hair, but the moment we would try to delve deeper into what has happening, the brain would switch off distracting the human. And yet, this person was expecting for things to change, whilst the brain was turning all the lights off preventing them to see the way out.
The expectation I guess was that without doing the work, things should just change.
And how many of us are just coasting and not actively doing something for things to change?
I think for the past 70 days I have been urging you, my reader, to step into your life and make the changes needed to upgrade. The very fact that you are reading these posts tells me, that something within is bringing you back, so then, what is it you are hoping to upgrade?
What levelling up do you need?
Are you here just to be? In which case, that is fine, but then do you think that by just being, you are not getting an upgrade?
I found myself these past 2 weeks explaining to a few clients how they are not the same person they were yesterday and inevitably I am faced with a stare, so I have to explain how their body has changed just by the fact that they had some water that morning, that they came across a person, or that they read something. And they appear surprised when I bring it up. So then if you are not the person you were yesterday physically, then what is the mental change that has taken place in you?
How might you be different from the person who woke up this morning?
Did you have an expectation of you or the world?
Were you sitting in the corner like the skeleton, waiting for someone to move you? Or did you take action?
What is the expectation of you?
Time to take out your diary and take some notes when answering the questions.
