The central stone is an oval labradorite in heues of green, blue and grey. To complete the design a small green jade bead finished the pendant close to the bale.
The stone at the center of the pendant almost hold a galaxy in its colours; what better way to showcase a galaxy; than by creating an intricate web of wire; to hold it. I wanted to create a pendant which showcases the stone at the center; and at the same time shows the twists and turns of the world as we go about our lives. The stone has a small imperfection; this just adds to the uniqueness of the piece. The center stone has been recycled from older jewelry.
This piece will be going to a loving home in Romania!
A NOTE: Wire wrapping is a genre of jewelry which requires pliable wire to be shaped into each piece. As a piece progresses, the wire hardens and it will retain it’s shape, however if you try to bend it or it gets squished, it will bend. Do not place your wire wrapped jewelry in a purse or pocket. :)
Though all silver plated pieces are made from tarnish resistant wire; it may age; as most metals do. Mild soap and water shouldn’t damage the finish, however I do recommend removing your jewelry before showering or bathing; using household cleaners, chemicals, or essential oils; doing manual jobs like gardening or washing dishes; and applying lotions. Do not use jewelry cleaners on this jewelry. Sometimes the plating can wear off with excessive use – therefore I recommend not wearing the pieces every day. Rotating your beautiful jewelry pieces creates a new look for you; and changes your mood for that day.
