A tranquil view of a calm lake under an overcast sky, with distant mountains and a small island visible in the water.

Nature at it’s finest once more, it decided to create an image that looks like a panorama stitched together from multiple images. The light playing a trick on the eye of the watcher, making us think that the world is an illusion bound together through time and space.

It was interesting to see how just a few rays of light can make the brain feel tricked into believing something is not real, despite seeing it with your own two eyes.

Reality is often not as real as you think it is. We spoke of this a number of times through the year, how our observations of the world are clouded by what has happened to us.

For anyone seeing the image for the first time they think it’s manipulated they would not believe that the light can refract in such a way through the clouds, that it can see as if the image is fractured. For those with the eyes to see and the mind open enough to accept, they will recognise that it was not digitally altered but would accept that nature has a phantastic way of behaving.

We can only believe that which is linear, but sometimes we need to go beyond that, and open the mind, to consider other possibilities.

What was your first thought at seeing the image?

Did you think it was a true capture of the camera?

Did you allow your mind to understand this possibility?

How open minded do you find yourself about the world?

How open minded are you of the world being perhaps not what you have always believe it to be?

What is your belief system today?

Does that belief system still hold true?
