An interesting insect, a butterfly that is very different from other butterflies I have seen in the past. When I photographed it the quality of the wings was what drew me to it.
Sometimes it is the quality of something that becomes the attraction be that between humans, or towards a job, or toward an object. It may not always be in our best interest but somehow we are enticed to pursue it. For me this time it was a butterfly with see through wings, for you maybe it was something else. I wonder what was the last thing that attracted you and what was the quality that first caught your eye? I am wondering if you reacted/ responded out of instinct to what you noticed, or did you actually took time to explore what you were experiencing and seeing? I am wondering if the quality was something that you have considered in the past, or was it just on the spur of the moment?
When we engage with the world and we appear to resonate or appear to have something in common we tend to hold on to it for fear that if we let go it will not come back or it disappears. I wonder if this is something inbuilt in our genetics from way back, you know when things were scare. I am wondering if as humans, are we able to see past the façade of things and actually consider the thoughts behind, the image behind, the motives behind the behaviour, the impulse behind the thought.
Sometimes when I interact with a client I notice how they respond to the immediate word, as opposed to consider the concept or the deeper thought behind the statement. I often have to rephrase the question so that they actually consider the answer. Some clients are so used to justifying their actions that whenever I aske a “what” question, they responds as if I asked a “why” question. I find it fascinating that their brain can not pick up on the difference between the questions. The instantly respond to their own impression of what I asked, rather than the question itself. From my perspective things are ever so clear and yet from their perspective they feel that I am out to catch them.
Wen you respond to questions, do you consider what you are being asked or are you just responding?
When a thought comes up do you jus take it as is, or are you willing to question it’s validity?
Are you a passenger to your thoughts or are you in charge of your responses?
Can you see through the obstacle of your own mind, or are you stuck behind thick walls?
Time to take out your diary and take some notes when answering the questions.
