We are fast approaching winter in the northern hemisphere, so it is appropriate to use a winter scene. I know the leaves are just turning yellow, but in my mind we are already ushering in the snow. What I loved about this image was the walking away of the dogs. It looks to me as if they just had a meeting and they are all returning back to their homes, just like humans do when they leave a gathering. And I guess my eye caught this image because today in one of my visits with a client I was greeting by an over excited pug puppy who decided that climbing all over me and trying to give me kisses is perfectly acceptable. I guess it felt it that I was ok to play with, so it invited me to be part of the pack. Of course the owner was absolutely mortified by the dog’s behaviour and tried to make it behave, and yet it was a perfect example of how if we are not in charge of our selves, a more animalistic more impulsive side of us comes out. This little pug who got emotionally overwhelmed by the smell of a new human on it’s territory, was a perfect illustration of how humans also get overwhelmed and non responsive to advice.
With that said, I would like you to take a walk on the wild side and imagine how life would be like, if you were in control of your inner “animal”? What would the human experience be like, if we were able to take hold of our own inner world an be in charge of it? How would life be different if we were able to acknowledge the hurt, acknowledge the disappointment, acknowledge the shortcomings and instead of reacting or of shame/embarrassment, we would respond from a place of acceptance?
Today I was talking to a colleague and I was trying to make them see how a client they are working with is perhaps going through something overwhelming, and I was trying to help my colleague see that perhaps this client was not ignoring advice but perhaps they were not in the headspace to engage with the advice. This colleague voiced that actually hey are not buying it; that they were certain of the deception of the client. It is interesting to note that this colleague was trying to tech the client to be more insightful, and be more introspective, and even more engaged with their family, and yet the practitioner was not able to show that within themselves. For this practitioner, imagining that the client needs more head space to be able to be more available, was too much.
In this image we have 3 dogs, 3 different breeds walking alongside each other. And yet as human beings we are not able to give the benefit of the doubt to a fellow human being. In order to be compassionate to another human being, it feels too much to bare. Being compassionate, empathetic, open to new possibilities for some human beings it feels like they are walking on the wild side of life.
So, how comfortable do you feel being compassionate to a person who may not be able to mirror it back to you?
How comfortable are you in empathising with another human being, animal or plant?
Are you able to see beyond that which is in front of you, and see the other human being as a sum of their own experiences?
Are you comfortable accepting their model of the world, and be respectful about it?
Time to take out your diary and take some notes when answering the questions.
Conscious Mentorship
If you would like to explore thing further, why not book with me and allow me to help you find your path to self.
We are now on day 290 of my 365 day self challenge, where I chose one image out of my photo collection and I invite you to enter into a discussion or even a journey into the self and open your mind to the possibility of a better and more honest future being YOU. We are entering a different level of understanding of who we are as human beings on the planet. We are trying to get back to the core of who we are meant to be, as this vast universe. We all think that the universe is our there beyond our atmosphere, and yet the wildest universe is that of who we are as humans. You only need to consider, that in order for you to be alive trillion of cells need to work in coherence to create your body, not only trillions of cells, but each of those cells are a universe of their own with their own components, and then there are all those electrons and protons and a whole lot of nothing all coalescing into the being called YOU.
Thank you for immersing yourself on this journey of discovery of your inner world, and for allowing your cells to get to know YOU.
The journey in this universe is fraught with many challenges, and yet the universe continues to exist and expand. So, open your mind and join the expansion.
Thank you for being, thank you for being a living cell in this fabulous being called Earth. You are loved, you matter, you are worth it!
