A grassy verge alongside a road, scattered with dandelions and puffball dandelion heads.

The verge on the British roads – also known as “bee hotels” nowadays. I am nor sure how many bees will enjoy the dandelions but here we are, the roads now have an abundant variety of verges.

Today I chose this image because it showed the flowers in different stages of their life cycle and it reminded me of how as humans we are also in different stages in our life cycle but also co-existing in that cycle. If we were to believe people we are born, we kind of grow up and then we die, not much to it right? Well, sure, we have to be born in order to exist, but then something interesting happens, some of us decide that we are too young too early so we want to grow up as fast as possible no matter the consequences. Others grow up but stay a child inside. Others go about their lives as if the are the living dead, no sparkle in their eyes. I guess those humans who are able to transcend the darkest of experiences, but be able to maintain a childlike curiosity and joy whilst are still adults kind of have it made. So in effect there are many people who just like the dandelions in the image they can be in the same body but can mould their way of being depending on what is needed in life.

Which stage do you tend to spend most of your days in?

Have you kept hold of your childlike curiosity and joy?

Or are you already a dignified zombie, just dragging your feet until the next day?

Do you even feel reality as an opportunity to experience new things?

Are you stuck in a rut?

If you were to look at the picture which stage in the life cycle of the dandelion are you?

Are you even aware which stage you are in?
