A large eagle soaring in the sky with three smaller birds flying nearby against a blue background.

It is day two of January, a day when everyone would have recovered from the nights and days before. With refreshed energy and mind, it is of course time to consider how to navigate the rest of the year.

Just like the birds in this image we need to learn to navigate the currents in our world.

The kites have learned to use the air currents to help them fly easier and to dive at great speed towards their prey. They have learnt to survey the land, and learned where they can access easy food, and learned when they need to hunt in order to survive. They moved from being endangered to thriving the skies once more.

As individuals, we find it sometimes really hard to enjoy that which is being given, we sometimes find it difficult to go with the flow, we sometimes find it too difficult to let go of the reigns of power, that we hold on to things no matter the consequences.

AS individuals, we maintain a perception and a rigidity of beliefs that sometimes stops us enjoying a worry-free life style. We want everything ordered, we want everything to conform to our inner image, despite it being impossible.

From young we are told we need to know who we need to be. From young we are told we have to have a dream of who we want to become and then take every step to become that. From young we are told how important it is to find the one, to find the perfect partner, have the perfect relationship, have perfect children, have a perfect life, a perfect house, a perfect everything. And from young we are told that we should do anything and everything to try and achieve it, and of course anything less would be unacceptable. And of course, we grow up, with this image in our heads, and when that image does not come to pass, we are disappointed, we do not know how to handle the disappointment.
