I smell change

It is a new day with new thoughts, new feelings, new experiences. Our senses pick up information daily and process the information in the hope that our body is able to get through the day successfully.

Much of what we pick up from our everyday interactions with the world is filtered out, and either made redundant by our brain or perhaps storing it for later in case we need it.

You have probably heard me say in the past that our brain is a perfect recording device, but for efficiency purposes our brain deletes or represses information so as not to overwhelm the system.

How often do you see your nose on a daily basis, and I do not mean when you look at yourself in the mirror?

I probably mentioned this in the past too, that despite this thing protruding out of our face and despite our eyes seeing it constantly, our brain filters it our as unimportant, until you focus your mind to see it.

The image I used today could not have any other title than “I smell change”. The cow in the image was clearly catching up on the scents in the air when I photographed it, and of course we are talking about a new day so clearly something new has happened with you today.

I am wondering what is it that you have done today that you have not done before, or have not done for a while? I personally did some plumbing, yup you heard right, something broke, and needed fixing, true I contributed to parts of the fixing, but I never had to take part in such activity in the past, but it was an interesting day. I also helped insulate windows this week with glazing putty, took apart a bench and sanded off the iron fittings. Next week hopefully will be rebuilding the bench. I checked out a new coffee shop I never knew existed. Every day brought something new and I can safely say that I am a changed human.

What changes have you gone through?

What is it that you have tried for the first time?

What is it that is new in your life?

Are you ready to try our something new?

If you think that you can safely stay the same as you were before you started reading the blog, well… guess again… by reading these few lines, you are a new person.

The brain has picked up information it has not had before; it has changed your biological structure and your whole biological internal environment. How, you ask? Well, depending on how you reacted to my words, depending on your thought processes, is what hormones your body has released, therefore your whole being has changed.

Change is inevitable, so the question is, how do you adapt to change?
