South Bank, London, one late November day. The composition of the imageforces you to follow the lines and as you look up a group of people are walking straight towards you. I don’t know about you but for me it has the feeling of a votex, sucking you into the image.
Have you had that feeling before, where you are just pulled into a vortex?! Of course you have, but perhaps you did not realise it. Her’s a few examples: that best friend who keeps choosing the wrong partner and tirelessly complains about it – and he/she calls you up to tell you all about their drama?! That family member that is so familiar with their trauma that all they can talk about is “that day when that happened” – an away they take you on that same journey as if it happened a moment ago. That work colleague who edlessly talks about their life and their woes and all the while you kow you have a ton of work to do, but you tell yourself I will listen for a little while. Do you remember?
Do you remember when your own brain took you down some rabbit holes?
Do you remember when life was dark and you thought there is no end in sights?
Do you remember that “love” you thought you will never get over, because that person was your twin flame, your soul mate, and the break up will stay with you forever?
Do you remember that story when…..?!
Do you remember?!
The influx of data was so overwhelming that your brain stuck got stuck in a loop seemingly never ending and you just re-cycle re-cycle re-cycle?! Oh, the broken record of our emotions, crashing out because our proverbial buffer is too full.
How did you break that cycle?
What made the overwhelm more manageable?
Was it a person who got you out of that funk?
Was it a place that help with the reset?
How did you learn to flow that river of data, and not get dragged down to the depths?
And maybe you are still swirling and swirling in that world beyond the senses, and so you need to try and find a way up for air.
Pull out a page and write it all down, and from the words you may find the answer. Or pick up the pencil and draw what you experience and from the lines meaning will form.
And of course if you wish to remain in that slipstream of data and emotion, you are free to do so, for we all have the option to remain where we are…but……….
