A statue of a historical figure wearing a crown and ornate attire, with a pigeon perched on her head, set against a backdrop of trees and buildings.

There are times when even the most powerful human beings becomes powerless before nature.

Today I challenge you to think of how much power do you hold in the world? Do you feel empowered to make the right decisions for you? Do you feel empowered to make a change? Do you feel empowered to overcome the harshest of obstacles? Do you feel powerful enough to overcome your emotions?

Today I worked with a client who was caught up with a power struggle of their own making. They were battling their anger whilst they were trying to make a friend stop lying to them and tell the truth. We spent an hour exploring if the anger was a valid response, and whether someone telling the truth was going to help my client feel better in the world. Of course after spending that time talking about things, it transpired that it was never about today’s moment, but it was something that happened over a year ago, and yet they used today as a trigger point for themselves. Throughout the discussion the client insisted it was about today, and yet they were loosing the battle and their power to emotions that have been harbouring for months.

It is interesting that we, as humans, we see ourselves as apex predators, the most sophisticated of creatures on the planet, and yet, all it takes is a word for our whole world to fall apart.

For me this image embodies the total lack of power, I let you discover on your own why.
