Patterns 2.0

When I was choosing the image, this metal sheet from the underground provided the perfect backdrop to look at the reoccurrence of certain things. Yup, we are back speaking about patterns.

We had this topic earlier in the year in February but for some reason I felt that it would be useful to revisit it. Yesterday we spoke of resolutions; we spoke of looking within ourselves to see what are we reflecting in the world; that then bounces back within. And I guess when we are not conscious of our thought processes or our reaction, but we are autopilot as they say, we tend to repeat things over and over again. Have you noticed how you seem to be getting yourself into similar situations time and time again; just to perhaps reflect one day, “why is this happening to me again”? Well, I guess our systems work in a similar way like a mathematical equation that we have not found a solution yet. Remember back in school when you were given a maths problem and you were certain you found the solution; but then you were way of the mark, and then you would go at it again thinking you have applied the mathematical rules correctly and then you get a different answer; and then the teacher says you should try again; and you get something completely different? Have you ever gotten a result right but you had no idea how you got it right? Or have you ever been in that math situation that you only manged to find the right answer after someone showed you the “trick”?! Well guess what, same thing happens to us in real life. You get yourself in some form of difficulty and if you do not have the right “skill set” you can not get yourself out of it; so the universe offers you another chance later on in life to resolve the issue, and if you have picked up the knowledge and you solve it, said problem goes away, but if you have not…well…the same problems shows up again. Often as humans in order to “protect” ourselves we repress things; or hid things from memory in order to preserve our integrity. And when you hide things; it can only be hidden for so long; until it comes back up again asking us to solve the issue. And perhaps just at the right time someone else comes along or you read something; and presto, the solution is found.

So why patterns? Well patterns means repetitions of the same thing; or a method of getting from one point to another using a diagram that is already established; or it could be a finite form that has no way of changing. What do you have within you as a pattern? Something immutable? Something that repeats itself? Some ingrained way of doing things? Something that you learnt one way when you were super young; but perhaps it does not hold truth today? Discover your pattern, then see how it serves you, or not.
