A clear night sky filled with numerous stars, illuminated against a deep blue backdrop, with silhouettes of trees at the bottom.

Every time I look at the sky, I can’t help but wonder at how amazing we are as humanity. We are hurling around in space on a rock that spins around it’s axis at an insane speed, this then spins around the Sun at an even more insane speed, whilst we swirl around in the arm of our galaxy in the great vastness of space. And despite all this data we have, we think we are unique and special and that no other planet with sentient life exists in the universe. Imagine our arrogance at that statement.  We are a mere speck in the ocean of the universe, much like how we see the stars on our sky, mere dust specks, and yet we think we are super special.

Well, I guess we kind of are special.

We think we are of this planet and that we developed independent of the whole cosmos, despite knowing that we are bombarded by cosmic dust on a daily basis. Yup, we most certainly started here, we have no link with the universal dust, we are unique there is no one like us out there. And of course you would be right, WE ARE unique, there is no other world like ours. So then, what is it that we do with our uniqueness? What does humanity do with it’s unique self? Do we work towards bettering ourselves? Do we work towards harmony with our fellow humans and creatures of this planet? Do we work for the benefit of them all? Do we come together to honour each other’s uniqueness?

I let you decide on the answer.

I hope that as you move in your own world today, and you glance at the sky today, you consider your origin from the stars. I hope that you consider how you are of that cosmos. I hope that you are able to find your place in the vastness of the galaxy and that you realise what an important speck you are dear star seed. You may be of Earth, but your infinite atoms within are of the stars.

Shine bright dear star seed, and enjoy the trip around the Milky Way.
