Turning back

Back to using cats for the blog, a lovely tabby who was the guardian at a stately home somewhere in the South Wet of the UK.

This kitty is able to turn it’s head and torso 180 degrees, with an incredible flexibility, anyone who ever had cats can vouch for how nimble and flexible they are.

Us, as human beings can just about turn our head’s 90degrees and yet in our mind we spin round and round and round ruminating on things in the hope of the outcomes changing.

It is difficult to stop ourselves from turning back in time to events, trying to find other outcomes.

Our emotions are linked to the past events, and our view of our current situation is very much clouded by those past events.

As much as we are often conscious that we can not turn back time; somehow our subconscious wishes that was the case.

Guilt, shame, anger, disappointment all feed themselves in the past, and I guess we are providing the fuel every day when we turn back to an event, to a person that wronged us or left us, when a decision was made in haste.

I pose to you the question, did you have all the facts at the time? Or do you fuel your emotions based on what you know today?

What if those decisions we made to get you to this point?

What if without those events and humans; you would not be on this path of discovering your inner path?

What if those choices, those events were the pressure point you needed to take a different step?

This week I spoke to someone who said just that “if I had known then, what I know now; I would have made a different choice”. I guess this person was blaming themselves once more for a decision that they made based on the information available at the time, from the prism of the present.

How often do you turn back, and then get stuck in the past? And do you have the flexibility to return to the present, allowing the memory to flow without being stuck in the mire?

As always join in the conversation in a comment, or journal your thoughts. We are ready to evolve, join us on the journey of discovery.
