Today I was talking to a client about choices, which I guess toes in with my entry from 2021 when we were at Choices 2.0…this I guess could be choices 3.0 or more.
This client is trying to overcome a very traumatic relationship with an abusive partner and whilst she is exploring her options and is trying to find herself once more, we toyed with the ideas of the future.
We took two new love interests and put them side by side, we explored the human qualities of each individual and then considered if they matched her own value base.
She reflected how one was such a familiar story, a family friend, who is all charms and fun and excitement. The other is the unfamiliar the new the serious, the driven the stable, the boring.
It was interesting to observe that when she spoke about the stable male who is likely to get places she was stoic and serious. When she spoke of the fun, exciting party type she was just as giddy and laughing.
The other interesting observation was that when I was going to speak of the future and we spoke the bifurcation of the path, when I started talking about the exciting, uncommitted aloof individual and how life may pan out she paid attention and was engaged. When I started talking about the more stable relationship the driven male would offer she started playing with the objects in the room talking about the details.
It was interesting to observe the natural unfiltered response of her body, and the unconscious choice her body was taking.
The image before you only presents you with the 2nd part of the discussion when I was trying to get her to consider the options. One, steady, focused path to a guaranteed success. The other and interrupted one with different stopping and starting points with point of drop out.
You can see where I identified with her the 0 point that the universe has offered her, the rest point, where new options can be created.
Clearly the serious path in her perspective does not allow for creative options, but the other one allows for more explorations.
What we put down as seeds in our ground of life it is what will then harvest a few months or years from now.
