Sometimes when you want to have an existential discussion, a fly is just as good a companion as ever. I chose this image because it made me smile, the cat looks like is talking to the fly, so of course the only discussion they could possibly have is an existential one.

When you have questions about the self, or about the universe, who is you conversation partner? Have you found someone who is willing to discuss things honestly with you? Have you managed to find anyone around you, who will be honest enough and direct enough to talk about the darkest of topics? Have you found someone you can connect to such a level that anything goes?

In my day job, I often find that clients are worried about talking to me of things that perhaps it would be shocking to others. I often have to re-assure them that though things may be shocking, it does not mean that it has not been brought up before.

Sometimes we need to be able to be ourselves enough; to open up about our thinking. And whilst sometimes our brain can imagine many things and can build up stories, often our own brain and body will not go trough with things. Our mind and body will work with us to make sure we survive, and sometimes in order to survive we make up things. Sometimes we just suffer with an over active imagination, and perhaps we need to talk to our imagination and keep IT in check. What is the greatest story you have ever told yourself, and it turned up to be just a story? How often does your inner voice tell you things that are not real they are imagined? How often do you have self talk either internally our outwardly, where you seem to get things sorted out? Isn’t that an imaginary conversation, trying to solve something that either has already happened or not happened yet? Do those conversations ever change an outcome?

What is your fly of today? What did you speak to the fly about, and the fly could not find solutions for it? Or better yet, are you the cat or the fly?
