Grooming and social bonding

In the animal kingdom grooming each other is a way of bonding especially amongst species that have a social structure. It is part of every day life.  These little furry creatures were having lots of fun chasing and grooming each other when I tool this picture a few years ago.

How do you maintain your social links with others? What is it that you do for others or rather you exchange with others in order to maintain that social link?

What would help you keep those connections going, especially as we are being told to spend more time away from each other?

How often do you reach out to someone and tell them for no reason that they are beautiful; or that you appreciate for their existence?

Have you ever been told that you are a ray of sunshine in someone else’s world?
What could you do tomorrow to show a fellow human being how much you care for them, without expecting anything in return?

How do you express your unconditional love for a total stranger, in a way that shows them their are worth?

We live in a modern world where we spend more time on devices than connecting with a fellow human being in the physical realm. We have become almost ethereal without realising; whilst maintaining a physical existence, and yet, with all the virtual connections many people feel more alone than ever.

My challenge to you is, once you read this entry, is to reach out and share your appreciation for your fellow human, or animal, or plant. Instead of squashing that bug next time, pick it up and release it with loving thoughts. Next time you are in nature, go up to a plant and tell them how beautiful they are and thank them for giving you the oxygen you breath. And if you can, next time you see another member of our human family, smile and say hello, and if you have family around, just thank them for their presence.

I know some people who may read this, their circumstance may be different, and perhaps they had some though years with difficult histories – to you my dear reader I want to say- “you are loved and appreciated – the whole human family thanks you for your presence amongst us, you bring difference to this planet”.
