Looking back

We continue our discussion using nature as our platform, I find there is much to learn from animals and plants. We do share genetic material with them after all, so why not use them as an example. If you think that you were just born as a separate genome away from all the animal and vegetable kingdom you may not have paid attention. Let us just start from the fact that you either are ingesting only plant based food or perhaps you combine plant based and protein of different origin. So technically you are either a plant based human o protein based, so you know, you literally are integrating that genome into your system. But I digress.

Looking back. We are on day 214, so far we have challenged our inner critic to try and be more open minded about the world, we have challenged our inner child to try to grow up and be more courageous. We have looked at who are friends are, who are our support networks, who is actually our family. We also explored what home means to us. We explored what is it that we consume either food wise or what we watch; and as a result how our inner world is influenced or not. We learned about the breath and how important that is to calm our system. We also tried to explore the importance of duality in the world and how we could use that duality to our advantage. We also tried to delve into our history, to understand what makes us, US. I guess the journey was significant, we covered a great territory in a short space of time.

Of course the image of the cow looking back could be interpreted by the viewer as just that, looking back at the cow just coming up, but you do not know the context or the full story. And as often, we do not know the full story, not unless we were there, but even then it would be skewed by our own interpretation of what we see or if we paid enough attention. The full story of the cow in the image is that it was trying to brush away the flies that were bothering her udders. And yes there was a cow coming up, but that cow was actually just grazing and situating itself alongside cow number 1. But why am I going on about the details? Well, with many clients when they get into a conflict with another person they often dismiss the actual words being said and interpret the hidden message behind the words, or they do not even allow the person to finish their thought before they jump to conclusions. Did you do the same by any chance?

I guess as human beings we can know all there is to know about what we think we know, and then there is the unknow, and of course the interpretation of what we know.

Have you ever truly listened to someone? You know listen to the actual words coming out of the person’s mouth without day dreaming away? Without wanting to jump in with a question? Without assigning meaning to the words, other than the words actually spoken? Have you ever just listened, or been with that person without judgement? Have you actually allowed the person to give you the story as they have experienced it, and then clarify things that needed clarifying? How often do you jump to conclusions?

Perhaps it is time to look back and ponder about how many times a situation would have unfolded differently, if you just took the information for the fae value of what it was, perhaps clarifying would have been useful. Time to take out our journal and take some notes.

As always join in the conversation in a comment, or journal your thoughts. We are ready to evolve, join us on the journey of discovery.
