Patience

I told you earlier in the week we will be back to our birds.

These three-winged friends are regulars in the garden.

Clearly, we are talking about a family. The darker bird kept feeding the lighter coloured one, whilst it was waiting patiently with its beak open.

This image reminds me of how some people are waiting for an answer instead of searching for it themselves, but I guess if you are reading this, perhaps you are seeking the answer on your own, or perhaps not.

The title for this entry popped into my head before the image, patience.

These past few days, I had to learn once again what this word meant.

I had to slow right down, as I am on holiday and the laptop I have to use is a decade old; and of course, it is slower than any device we have available currently. And it is not only the laptop that made me consider patience as a word; most of the world around me, where I am, is moving at a different pace. And yet, when I look at the humans around, they too are trying to rush things when, in fact, if we exercise patience, we are likely to achieve more.

What are the things that make you take your time and slow down?

What is it that you are perhaps rushing when, in fact, you should be slowing things down?

What is it that you fail to afford enough time to, and as such perhaps you are missing key elements?

Another thing that I am surprised as of late, or perhaps not so much; is the lack of patience that adults have with younger people or children even. As adults, we often forget that we too had to learn many things along the years and that when we speak to small children, we need to afford the same consideration. That perhaps their timings are not in line with ours, that perhaps their internal systems run at a different speed and their priorities are different.

I often wonder what makes us adults be so impatient with the younger generation?

Have you experienced your elders as impatient with you?

Have you been afforded the time you needed to learn?

Has your speed been matched by your care givers?

Do you afford time and patience for others in your life today?

As always join in the conversation in a comment, or journal your thoughts. We are ready to evolve, join us on the journey of discovery.
